WW2 RAF Lancaster base - Dump discovered - Finds keep coming

Article about: by Steve T A big buckle off something and a piece of metal that reminds me of a metal MG belt feeder. The stainless steel item is indeed part of a USAAF .50 cal flexible feed chute. by Steve

This is probably my favourite find from the day
    It's an aircraft fire/escape axe.
Found whilst not really looking, I returned to my digging bag to get a cup of tea (it was a cold day) and while drinking just kicked the leaf mould around to discover this on the surface

It's the lid from a squirty-type oil can, the sort with a spout and trigger.

    All the best,

Yup, Merlin SU carb filter screen, bolts directly to the top of the carb.

See HERE for the matching bolt holes.

    All the best,

    Hello,

Steve found 7 of these all in the same area and kindly gave LS and me 2 each.

    Any ideas?
