The cartridge you cleaned has a Romanian headstamp and is a 7.92x57 Mauser round.....Pete.

#1 looks like the handle of a pocket knife. #3 is probably a driving band of a shell and #4 looks like a mushroomed bullet (hitting something solid)

    Where we're these found?

Could they be from WW2 ?

Maybe...would they worth to be cleaned?

Mushroomed bullet ? So big and solid (and pretty hard for its dimensions) ?

    Question

Could the rusty cartridges be cleaned (at least...the headstamps !, of course) ?

I have no idea if they are WW2. Depends where you found them.

There are guys here who clean these rusty relics using either Oxylic acid or electrolysis. I have no idea how do it it.

As far as the mushroomed item is concerned. I didn't even notice the ruler. So yes. It is very big and thus I am probably wrong. Was just a guess anyway. But maybe some type of very large caliber round hitting the side of a tank . I really don't know but the shape looks very similar to rounds I have fired at steel plate.
