I had another quick go this evening before my run

Nice fins John (again) no idea. but my guess would certainly have been base plug from a mills.

Could be off a No3 Mk1 rod grenade, used with the LE. Not sure though as I don't know where that disc would fit on one.

There was also, of course, a Lee-Enfield No3 Mk1 so it could also be off one of them, like the stock ID disc.

Only other thing I can think of No3 Mk1 is a vickers ammo belt.

I suspect its possibly the Gas Check plate off a Lee Enfield Mk3 Cup discharger grenade. A screw thread on the plate would screw it to the bottom of a Mills bomb.

hot spot!! I only have only found 3 and one complete round. That is no longer complete

In fact may try and pop up there tomorrow briefly as need to pop to my Mums anyways to see about that Dunkirk - Margate stuff.
