Yesturday i Drove straight there from work and did about 1 hour of searching.

    Back again tomorrow.

In the last 2 pictures does anybody know what this is. It had a 12- and a broad arrow next to it

    Cheers gang

Nice finds WH, Just a thought but perhaps the little WD arrow marked piece is a rifle oil bottle?

Now Im wondering how you'll get on with the next search.

Im sure the unknown item is a mk3 percussion igniter ,used as a fuze initiator during demolitions, and also employed to initiate boobytraps etc in combat scenarios

    Whitehunter, some lovely finds there!

Have you managaed to trip over any live mortars yet? I tended to find a hell of a lot with their paint markings intact. If I'd known then (11 or 12 years old at the time), what I do now, I'd have not been so keen to find the live ones. Thank the gods nowt happened.

Nice finds W.h. Any chance of coming across live ordinance? If so, please take
care. I got a find to go along with those base plugs for the mills bomb.
Here's a live one found in Gapyong, part of Canada's 2PPCLI lines that you might like to see.
Probably wasn't a bright idea picking it up. I guess they're covered in some kind of waterproof enamel. While it looks safe, I gotta wonder if the fuse has deteriated after 60 years making it unstable.

    Very nice finds, Whitehunter.

I envy you guys who are able to go out and MD these sites !

Unforgotten, that No. 36 doesn't look safe to me. I think it is still quite lethal,
and I hope you contacted the proper authorities to have it disposed of.

These grenades normally had a green stripe painted 'round them to indicate
they were useable in humid environs, as well as a series of 'XXX's in red
    - meaning 'HE' or 'high explosive'.

    Be careful out there..........!

As i understand it , its not the fuse that you need to worry about, the filling, either gun cotton or RDX can become very unstable on its own, i was told once that it becomes as volatile as nitro, and this was from a guy who worked at ERDE , his job was pretty hush hush, but he used to advise BDTeams here and abroad
