Brass Knuckles / Knuckle Dusters

These brass knuckles were handed down to me. I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to the maker and a possible date of manufature. The letters "J T R" are stamped into them. I do not know if this is a maker's mark or the initials of the owner (does not match anyone in my family, but that does not necessarily mean anything.

Sorry this in an Edged Weapons forum but it seemed most suitable.

These were made by many many different companies all over the world. It would appear, from the hand stamped look to the 3 initials, that they were probably added by the owner. They could possibly be police,military, or just plain everyman's. Even age is tough to estimate, as they still make these today virtually identical to the old ones. No way to tell. William
