I picked this up today at the flea market. I have a Spanish Mauser and have been looking for a bayonet to fit it for a decent price but when I saw this argentine m91 bayo I thought it will do the job until I get the Spanish one. It's got matching numbers on blade and scabbard . It also fits snugly on my Mauser. The handle is aluminium.Opinions are welcome .

Always good to have matching numbers and it still has the crest on the blade - quite a lot had these ground off before disposal by the Argentine Government.

Cool, thanks for the reply, Richie! For being so old, it's in superb condition, IMO. Also it's long, nearly two feet! Practically a sword.

I'm of the same opinion as Richie. Great that the emblem
has not been ground off. I used to own one 35 years
ago - think I paid $15 or $20 back then.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

I have one of these and the emblem is ground off, the blade is ok, but the inside of the scabbard is rusty, so I can't put the blade inside or it get covered and looks rusty itself. That's a nice blade, in great shape. Have you ever seen one with brass scales? There aren't as many of those around. I've heard some say that the brass was navy, but no one seemed to be able to come to a consensus about who had what.

I haven't seen brass on any. I am stoked the emblem is present . I looked at other bayo's of this sort but the crest is always ground down. I wonder how mine made it out without getting ground. Thanks for the added info gents!
