Yes, relatively rare bayonets, thanks for showing !

I would be interested to know if there are other threads on the Norwegian M1968 bayonet here in the forum.
Can't really find anything about it...

Hey, a good blade is a good blade. It may make us collectors cringe, but its not a stupid idea

Some M1968 AG3 / AG3 TYPE I (G3) bayonets of Norway, (early version in imitation wood sheath / "future wood -design")

The Norwegian knife bayonet model 1968 (M1968) for the 7.62mm NATO caliber automatic Gevaer 3 (AG-3) / (Automatgevær 3) is in my opinion, (precisely, because of the design of its grip), a quite unusual bayonet.

What I have noticed over the years is that you can find it in mint, absolutely unused condition, but more often "heavily towed" (Norwegian troops were deployed in Afghanistan and also used this bayonet there).

The AG3 TYPE I (AG3 First Type / First Model) can be found supplied in different sheaths.

Today I'm going to show you a heavily "towed" M1968 bayonet, in which the tip of the blade seems to have been ground down.

I cannot say whether this is due to a tip that broke off in combat service.

In any case, the blade still has its factory, original length.

    The dimensions of this bayonet:
    Blade length: 169mm
Handle length including crossguard thickness: 124.9 mm
    Thickness crossguard: 4 mm
    Overall Length: 293.9mm
    Blade width: 22.4mm
    Blade Thickness: 4.9mm
    MRD: 22.2mm
