Interesting, that this is the third, ( ), romanian, AKM -bayonet I own, showing such "strange" wrist strap ! ...

I do not believe that a such, particular, strap used together with a backpack, or, other load carrying equipment, because I do not think it´s really serviceable.
IMO the strap is too small, ("narrow"), and, not "strong" enough for such a usage ...

Any, further, information´s would be appreciated !

    Thx. in advance,
    R.

    P.S.:
The, (mentioned), other two bayonets, I´ve got earlier:

    Here´s an "N-K C6", or, "NC-AK".
    It´s the "Export-Version" of the soviet AK 74 (M 1989/6X5) bayonet.
Just to be mentioned that "N-K" is not the same with "NC-AK".

N-K means "nozh kalashnikov": kalashnikov knife - it can´t be fixed to the rifle as you can see)

NC means "nozh suvenirny": souvenier knife - it is still fixable to the rifle but it has cutting line across the blade basis (iaw russian laws it is not possible to use it as a direct weapon so)
