I would think Nepalese could be too the marking, or like You mentioned area of India, Pakistan. Or its only other font variation of arabic nummerals?

Used some google - find no similarities with nepalese (and hindi // urdu // dari as well)

Has anybody some idea - are those markings numerals or alphabet or what?

Bayonet itself should be some not very clearly identified Browne Bess - as most of them are..

Problem is that the numerals are identical or very near in Dari, Farsi and Urdu and even arabic numerals so when they were different numerals like 6,7 or 5 we could destine better the serials, the letter could be "kaf" in urdu alphabet, which would be correct for moslem Pakistani area, i assume it was in period of Brown Bess under english influence. The history information probably could help on this. Where it was used, etc. b.r.Andy
