    Nice one M1867 Remington, Gebr.Weyersberg production probably, W could be control proof.

    Remington is good.
    The brand " W " has not been previously seen on similar Remingtons.
    But the seller claims that this is the "WINCHESTER" brand. I don't think so. But I can't decipher this brand.

    Could be a inspector proof, wout crown is possible from a republic or not monarchy, but it could be different too, bayonet could be assembled with Liege produced Remington rifles for market sale, i dont have info that Winchester ever made Remingtons Rolling Blocks.

    Are you sure this isnt a French Chessepot model 1866 bayonet .

    This bayonet will not fit The m1866 rifle. Look at the photo of the handle.

    Andy, Manufacturing in Liege bayonet of Chassepot and Remington had their marking? I have a bayonet of Chassepot with the mark "L". What information do You have?

    There are no markings on the blade's butt.
