Im no expert in French bayonets but I believe that mark is a poincons de controle or inspectors mark. I have previously seen a website which identifies the inspector for each of the different poincons but I can't seem to find it again.

Nice example Dmir. The number on the hilt is probably an issue number for a regiment. Kings head mark for Weyersburg as expected for that era. Later the company merged to form W, K & C, and picked up the knights head mark as well. The solingen blade makers made alot of export bayonets and swords for other countries. This is just one example.
Thanks. Versions on the mark are interesting AF. Your opinion?
Today I obtained this bayonet. There are new marks.
Mark C.M. under the crown - ?
