Top one is a cut down P14 bayonet, bottom is a cut down Ross. I found a couple different stories about the P14, that the US had modified them to give to the french resistance, but that most had been used by the foreign legion. It's practically new, both blade and scabbard, it's probably a fake, but the price was right, and I liked how it looked. The Ross from what I can remember was done by the Canadian govt. after the ross was removed from service. I like the ross one best, it fits my hand pretty well.

It looks, the french bayonet is an original in all of it´s parts.

This bayo was in use in the LE, also in other French Army units and it´s not an WWII item.

There´re images, showing this knive´s used by Soldiers of the LE in Indo-Chine, and in Kolwezi.

A German trader sold this knives a couple of yrs. ago.

    Best,

    Poignard U.S.17

    overall lenght: 308 mm
    blade lenght: 186 mm

    QUELQUES POIGNARDS U.S.17 "LEGION"....

This dagger is a shortened british P 13 bajonet, muzzle-ring removed, all metal parts phosphated, sheath shortened and a french frog added.

Also in the Lebanon-conflict in 1982 / 83, this french pattern fighting knife was in use.

Very nice the italian M1916 fighting knife, the grip plates of the ERN beside are replaced.
Would you show us images of the blade of the italian knife and from the reverse side of the sheath ?

BTW, the blade of this italian pattern fighting knife was made of the shortened blade of the Vetterli M1870/87 bayonet.

    Thx. in advance !

Yes, the M1916 fighting knive was used in the Arditi units, (also, in the Czech Legion).
There´s an, (almost), similar knife called Model 1916, Pungale.
The blade was a shortened Vetterli blade also, but the hilt was different.

Btw, my English isn´t that proper either ! ...

I really like how those Italian knives look. They still have the old world dagger look, just classic, but then they are Italian hehe and both of you have pretty good english, better than my german lol
