Here is my No 4 Mk II spike bayonet made by The Crown Corporation Small Arms Ltd., Long Branch, Ontario, Canada.
L over B makers mark.
They made approximately 910,000 No. 4 Mk. II bayonets from 1942–1944.
This example bears the Canadian Government acceptance mark, indicating use by Canadian Forces.

Long Branch is today part of city Toronto and city of Mississauga.

Adjacent to the west side of Marie Curtis Park (now Marie Curtis Park West) is the former site of the Small Arms Limited Long Branch Arsenal. The Ordnance Branch of the Department of National Defense authorized the construction of the factory in 1940. After transfer to the Department of Munitions and Supply, a Crown Corporation, Small Arms Ltd. was formed to operate the facility. By June 1941, the first five rifles had been produced. Huge quantities of British-pattern military small arms were manufactured there during the Second World War, including the No.4 MkI* Lee-Enfield rifle, and the Sten submachine-gun.
Small Arms Ltd. ceased operations at the end of December 1945. Beginning January 1, 1946, operations continued as the Small Arms Division, Canadian Arsenals Limited. The factory was closed June 30, 1976.

Since 1992, when a group including the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority purchased the grounds, various plans to revitalize the area (along with Marie Curtis Park) have been floated. The scenario that seems to have progressed furthest was put forward by the Lakeview Ratepayer’s Association, and would see the City of Mississauga and the City of Toronto partnering to turn the range into a historical park. The park—plans for which have currently stalled, with Toronto thinking of going ahead and renovating only Marie Curtis Park—would include a heritage tour designed to educate students and other citizens about the site’s history, including the contributions of more than 40,000 women who produced munitions at the factory during the war.

The end of the story is that our family goes to that park at least once a month :-)
