Here are a couple of butchers I have, an s98/05 neuer Art and an s98/05 neuer Art mit Sage. The sawback has an ersatz frog that I thought was German at 1st, but the rivets are wrong. Most likely it is Turkish, but it will stay there til a replacement can be found. The Fitchel butcher has a black painted scabbard and a 4 digit serial number on the cross guard. Common belief is that this was done by Bavaria for police use.

I love the "butchers" myself, they are very unique and nothing tops the sawback model in my eyes.
