Doubt about my grandfather's bayonet or knife
Article about: Hello gentlemen! I do not know if you can help me. This knife belonged to my grandfather and has the Alex brand ????? (I think that is an Alex Coppel). My question: It would be a german WW1

Hello! It's not German, you have not the place for the gun

Looks like the bayonet/blade was converted into an all-purpose Trench-knife...We often encounter similar creations among WWI blades, including the shortening of swords into trench-knives...

Thank you very much!
For lebus12:
The piece hasn’t a slot and I believe that the cable has been rebuild.
For bigmacglenn1966:
But do you think is it a German bayonet WW1?

I can only say with a degree of certainty that it's a Mauser Bayonet...The blade has been modified which makes a more specific identification difficult...

Mauser Bayonets were exported to many Central and South American Nations as well...I mention this as I see you're from Brazil, which opens many possibilities as to this knife's true history...
cheers, Glenn
