Even though it isn't in great shape, it is a fairly uncommon find. Erfurt manufactured the blade and Heller made the finished bayonet. There was a lot of cooperative effort in the manufacturing of WWI bayonets. The larger manufactures supplied a lot of blades to the smaller firms. In this case I don't think there will be a date on the blade.

Quite a few of these WW1 88/94's lack date-stamps on the spine. Nobody seems to know why but production of this type was commissioned very rapidly after WW1 began (in the Autumn 1914) and production started in 1915, and so my own feeling is that these ones without a date could be from the first production - especially as some I have seen lack the flashguard, introduced for this model bayonet in April 1915.
