    Dear Friends!

I want to show you an interesting german fighting knife:

-grip is fixed with 2pcs 6 sided female-screw
-Sheath is also not the common shape.

Do you know anything about this knife, for me, it looks like it was produced with the screwfixtures on the grip.

Are you sure the two pieces belong to each other? Looks like the scrabbard is a lot younger to me, even has that typical BW look to me.

I think the painting is not original on the sheath, this is why it looks newer.I think the sheath is original WW2, I dont think that BW used such a knives.

    Dear talltom!

This is exactly why i posted this knife, and named as "interesting".The knife is not fake for sure, i have several pieces of this i can make difference between original and fake, you can even see the age on the photos.

The only question is this damn screw Is it originally builted like that, or freetime owner made.
One friend told me, that he has seen a similar fixed grip in one of the german fighting knives book, unfortunatelly i dont have it.

The Infanteriemesser 42 itself and the sheath are WWII made, no question !
The scabbard´s obviously overpainted, don´t know when ...
When the screws were added, I don´t know either ...
The grip plates originally were fixed with rivets, nothin´ else ...
Also I do not like the hole in the hilt !
