Can we have close ups of the socket? It could be a "winner", depending on many things.

any good jell type paint remover would work on the socket bayonet,,,are there any markings visible on the socket?,,,as said earlier,,the hook guard enfield is quite uncommon,,,i have been looking for one for years!

    Hi simon,
the top bayo could be one of either Enfield or Martini henry, they both look similar to that one,
but i could be wrong. i think it is an enfield 1853 socket bayo.

The Sanderson, which is British made, is very collectable. I would like to see a better photo of the markings as these bayonets are sometimes faked. Correct ones, even in poor condition, bring over $400.

It looks like you got a great bayonet.

    Best wishes,

    Ed

That is a very early, and correct, Pattern 1907 Sanderson. I would value it between $400 and $600. The other Pattern 1907, the one without the hook, should be worth between $40 and $60. That hook makes a big difference.
