    Default Japanese Type 30 Bayonet

I have a WW2 Japanese type 30 bayonet. It was made by Nagoya.

It looks great, but the blade is a blackish color (unlike others I have seen) There are no dents on it. It had a green oil like substance on the blade and it is inside the scabbered.

It is just the age that makes the metal like it is? Does the "black" color de-value it?

    Many Thanks, S. Martin

Maybe you could post some pics? The ``black`` might be some kind of bluing and the ``oil`` maybe is something that the Japanese used to clean it?

I cant post picture right now....but I was wondering if the black could be from the oil that was probably on it since the war????
