Well, the scabbard isn't for a K98. Maybe someone will recognize what bayonet it is for and from what country.

Looking at the scabbard lug I would agree also with Michael that it is not a K98 bayo type.

All mysteries will be revealed. The mark is an acceptance mark, for the Chilean M1895 mauser bayonet. The bayonet with a similar length of 24 cm to the K98, was made by usually WKC for a few years until about 1900.

Like mentioned Chile M95 or M12 scabbard. Blade lenght 250mm normally, possible the S84/98 is little shortened. b.r.Andy
