Yes, there´re many copie´s along the way, most of them are easy to recognise, others less ...

USD 40,-- are about 30,9 Euros today ...

Naturally knives of the Bundeswehr, (meanwhile they became pretty collectible !), in Austria and Germany are not that expensive than in other countries, but, the shipping sometimes is more expensive, than the item itself ! ...
