Metal handle K98 bayonet????

Is this a real k98 bayonet with a metal handle? I’ve never seen on like this, it looks homemade to me. Does anyone know what it is? Thank you - WarHorse

It is a real Ersatz bayonet.
It looks like this is a cut down EB44 (Ersatz Bayonet). It might be a EB45

It is obviously missing some parts/cut off muzzle ring.
But wait for others who study these to chime in.

I agree. I think it's Carter's 44, though difficult to see blade fuller well in photo. It's been modified to S84/98 specs probably in the Weimar period.
