Hello everyone, a couple of days ago I bought a bayonet in Bulgaria. I have done some research to find out what type of bayonet it is and have found it to be a 1895 Mannlicher bayonet made by an Austria firm, but it has a little Bulgarian lion. However as this is the first bayonet I have ever bought, I would like to hear your thoughts, as well as would like to share these pictures with you all.

I bought this piece for 50 euros. I am curious whether I have been swindled or not, how do you value these bayonets?

I can't read what is written here, anyone venture a guess?

I see OEWG-marking in the blade (which means Austrian made) and FGGY-marking in the scabbard (which means Hungarian made) - that is quite a common with these Austro-Hungarian m1895 bayonets.

Bulgarian lion added to the blade is an additional bonus. I think you made a good enough deal paying 50 euros for that set.
In my collection a have those m1895 bayos with austrian, hungarian and czech markings but not the bulgarian one so far.

Thank you for the reply! The place I bought it had several more of the same type, but I don't know if they have Bulgarian lions as well (didn't really check the bayonet until I was home). They had many bayonets, helmets and swords. It was by the big church in Sofia (open air tourist-market) built in commemoration to the fallen soldiers that fought against the Ottoman empire. Just in case you are willing to go on a trip there to buya similar one
