Odd U.S. M4 bayonet

Hi, mates !

A collectors mate of mine received this, U.S. M4. -bayonet, manufactured by UTICA.
Scabbard throat stamped:
U.S.M8
B.M.CO.

The sheath is, obviously, overpainted in olive-green, (looks "old" -made).
The pommel seem´s overpainted in, kinda, "steel-blue".

There´s also a marking on the bayonet throat:

Yes, I know, it´s a .30 caliber Garand M1 carbine -bayonet!
IMO, this bayonet was in use later in Korea, maybe, in NAM, also.
Any, further, opinions welcome !

I see nothing odd other than the addition paint and agree that it saw post WWII service. The bayonet itself is in great shape for something that likely had a long service life.
