Article about: I have bayonet I need help identifing. It is 21 inches overall with a 15 inch blade. I think it might be a Springfield but it has no maker on it. The only marks are on the end of the grip. I

    I have bayonet I need help identifing. It is 21 inches overall with a 15 inch blade. I think it might be a Springfield but it has no maker on it. The only marks are on the end of the grip. I have posted pics to help. Also how do you remove the grips. They are smooth on one side and look like they need a special tool on the other. Any suggestions.

    I thought there might be a makers name under them.

    Persian Mauser bayonet. Made in Czechoslovakia I think.

    Huge things arnt they, I am finding bayo's harder to come by now. Plenty in the us but postage and taxes are high anyway nice bayonet

    I agree, Persian / Iranian VZ29 bayonet, probably produced by Zbrojevka.
    Small stamp Z in the scabbard - near the bayonet frog loop.

    Thanks again for the info and the picture. I am in the US and they are getting harder to find here also. Unless of course you do not mind paying. Most of mine I have had for a few years, just was not sure exactly what they were.
