I believe this is a French model 1866 but it doesnt have serial numbers and I'm not sure what all the marks represent. I have included a few pics of the marks. Any help would be great! Here is a full length picture.

I think it is a Chassepot too, what is the other side of the pommel end like? Curved blade?
The model type is usually on the spine of the blade on french bayonets...
Glenn
i think that i have the same model . It has a carve 1856
I am a rookie. What is a carve 1856?
This bayonet is the model 1866...I'm almost positive! You can do a google image search under "french bayonet" and you'll find it as I just did....
cheers, Glenn
There is possibility the bayonet is a Remington M1867, there is only different on backspine of hilt in slot reccess, the marking on pommel are arabic numbers, so it could be a egyptian Remington M1867.
