Default Prussian Model 1871 Dress Bayonet

    Gents,

I recently bought this piece because it is in not the best of shape however, it is an interesting item for it's markings and grip. It had diagonal slashes on the right side of the grip and a smooth grip on the left. It is Maker Marked, "WK&C. I am told by the Gent who sold this to me that the blade was made by the firm, Gebruder Simpson in Suhl and was assembled by the Prussian Royal Arsenal at Erfurt. Could this blade be associated with the Grenadier REgiment King Friedrich II (3rd East Prussian) No.4? I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

    Kind Regards,

    Joel

Not sure why your seller mentioned Gebruder Simpson and Erfurt.

The marking "WKC" indicates that it was made by Weyersberg & Kirschbaum.

Unless there are any other markings on the piece, there is no way to associate with any particular regiment.
