Turning 17 in 6 days and I'm interested in picking up a Vietnam era Kabar or AR15 bayonet, need to know what to look for because I know there's a lot of reproductions out there. Post pictures of the ones you've got in your collection if you want.

    Thanks,

If you ar looking for a Kabar there are two to look for that are from Vietnam. First would be one marked "CONETTA" the other would be one marked "U.S. Camillus, N.Y." If it is marked "U.S. Camillus" with no "N.Y". it is post Vietnam Issue. There is a third marked "UTICA" used in Korea and possibly Vietnam. Thing to remember is that the U.S. Military had alot of knives and bayonets still in inventory from both WW2 and Korea so anything could have been issued. The Special Forces in Vietnam actully got some M1918 knuckle knives from somewhere that were used in Vietnam. As far as M7 Bayonets for the M16 they will be marked "Conetta" and "B.O.C". Charlie
