Short Sword

Here's a 22" short sword I picked up about 30 years ago. No marks, so it has been hard to ID --- any ideas?

You have a Brazilian Artillery machete - Model 1908 IIRC.

There is one on e-Bay with a Buy It Now price of $490.00 - a little optimistic I think.

I have had this tucked away for years --- and wondered about its origin. Have not taken the grips off .... there may be something there....

Leave the gripp's as they are, damadging the srew's heads or the gripp's with a srewdriver wouldn't be good!

Nice little piece. How much did you get it for 30 years ago? 30 dollars? Most WW2/WW1 items were dirt cheap.
