Hi SRB
It is practically impossible to date making of the Swedish bayonet model 1896. Most bayonets were made in connection to the rifles were purchased or manufactured - roughly 1900 to 1910. A number m/96 bayonets were made later - about the end of the 1930:s, when a shorter version of the rifle was adopted - m/1938.
Very early versions of the bayonet had a flat lock button, unlike the existing cone shaped.
The Hallmark EJAB belongs to Eskilstuna Jernmanufaktur AB. This firm made this bayonet between 1905 and 1912. It is not possible to specifie a year.
Unfortunately the rivet in the handguard is missing, the bayonet is reblued or painted and the numbers are not matching.
Regards
yes.I think that it is remanufactured bayonet...
it is not made new after 1912... the parts are overworked...
