There is a small deep stamp on blade but barely readable
Not sure what this is. Looks like an Artillery short
sword from the 1800's, but these are usually
a lot heavier. Militia ? Cadet ?
Can you take a steady micro shot
of that mark ?

Steve.
Posted a up close !..almost looks like an I
Sword has damage but the damage could have been where it was used,
Or..is it an Indian made fake that Joe Walters sold for years at the House of Swords and Militaria?

No sir came straight from a basement clean out and was only $50...don't even know who that is
More research will be done
lol You're likely right, and I'm not saying that your piece is necessarily fake, but Joe Walters made and had made very convincing fakes 50 plus years ago and continued right on until 2005 or so til he met his untimely demise, so to speak. To this day, they are confounding collectors all over the World. When he wasn't making them himself, he had pieces made in Spain, India and all over. His methods of aging them are legendary. Many of them today are horrendously difficult to differentiate and hang in museums and serious collections all over.
