Isn't this a parade bayonet that has been shortened, or am I mistaken here?
cheers, Glenn
looks to me too be a re cut dress bayonet made into a trench knife
There´re attachable, private purchased, Armeedolche, ("Army daggers"), made in WWI, also, in the Weimar republic by several makers.
They have nothin´ in common with dress bayonets !
in that case neat find i have never seen one of theese before but it has a cool look nice find
Hi, Lance !
Very nice, private purchased, Armeedolch, made by Eickhorn, congrats and, thx. for showing !
Best,
R.
Is this the same sort of thing then? I'd always figured it was some sort of dress bayonet but always thought it strange it had a double edged blade and whilst it has the rifle 'slot' the push button was just for show and was really only there to make the eagles eye.
It has not makers marks or anything other than the Kaiser Wilhelm II cipher (think that's what it is?) in the grip.
