    Hello all,
Further to my previous posting of one of my 1907 Hooked Quillion Bayonets, here are my other two for you to look at.
One of them is in a MkI Scabbard with internal chape.
Both as you can see have the 1908 Pattern frogs and the blades on both are in pretty good condition.
One of them issued 1908 the year the 1907 was introduced for the first time.
The one in the MkI scabbard I picked up not too long ago with a 1907 Mole in an brick a brac shop. The owner said he would not take less than £50.00 for the the pair............so I bought them!

    Hello Chris,
Your bayonet was issued in July 1915. The clearing hole was put into bayonets around 1916 onwards because of fouling.
The Hook Quillion was removed from British bayonets from 1913 onwards so yours would have been one made without the quillion and without the clearing hole.
If it was taken back into the workshop at a later date for refurbishment then a clearing hole would have been added.
    I hope this helps.
    Regards

    Jim
