    Hi,
    Today i was offered a U.S, M1 long bayonet, the blade is the 16" one.
    I know these a hard to come by as most were cut down to the 10"
    blade, in 1942, It has no scabbard but the bayonet is in good condition. I would like to know the value of it, i dont want to pay to much.

    Dave I was at a show a couple weeks ago and they had them for sale for around $150.00 US no scabbard. 250 -300 with scabbard. Gary

    Hi Gary,
    thanks for that info i was offered it today the guy doesnt know what type it is, and offered it very cheap 20.00. so i think i will have that one, He just said it was an old U.S, bayonet it,s a type of junk shop i found. Thanks nice one.

    Hi Dave, that is a very good price for today.

    Back in the very early 1980's when I collected US kit, a good clean M1 Bayonet was about 15 to 20 max. Cut down ones were always less sought after. The early long (un cut) bayonets always commanded more money going for about 25. While a mint WW1 Springfield bayonet and M1910 scabbard was 30. I used to have examples of all of these. Long gone now.

    Thanks for the info so it sounds a good buy, i will go and get it as
    i read the uncut ones are hard to come by now. Perhaps i can pick up a scabbard later.
