    Looks like a WW1 French Berthier bayonet.

    1st Pattern m1892 with hook quillon-would have had Bakelite handles/grips if early or wood if late production-this bayo is for the Berthier short carbine-the long infantry rifle uses a completely different 'needle' type.

    Same opinion first typ M1892 Berthier,possible celuloid grips were rotten or removed? b.r.Andy
