    Steve,

He doesn't have any online at the moment but I regularly see spare French scabbards sold on bayonetman.com for reasonable prices with free international postage.

    Hello everyone,

My M1842 leaf spring, with Chatellerault stamps.

Strange scabbard, marked WD which is the British mark for War Department. Maybe ended up in the British armory?

I think the scabbard is for an English 1853 1st model artillery bayonet. The 1853 was a direct copy of the French 1842 with some slight differences, so I'm pretty sure the scabbards would interchange. The 1853 is a hard bayonet to find and the scabbard is pretty rare!

Looks like a decent 1856 Enfield bayonet. Is the back of the pommel/handle shaped concave? Looks like an 1856 from the side profile of the handle.
