Default 57er Firemans Afrika ribbon bar.............

Gentlemen, a little number that the postman delivered recently this four piece ribbon bar.....with EK II, Black wound badge, AFRIKA cuff title award and a Baden-Wurttemburg 25year service fire cross.
A later 1970's ? construction using the later mount with no backing material and ball catch style fastner.................It is of my opinion that the original recipient, a member of the Afrikakorps probably won the EK and wound badge at the same time during his Afrika campaign, and that judging by the lack of further awards, he was one of the thousands of POW's taken in early/mid 1943.......resuming a career in uniform with his local Lander fire service after the war.
No name is known which is all too typical of 57er awards !
    Prost !Steve.

"The German Army is the perfectly adapted, perfectly running Machine. The difference is that the Germans are organised with a view to War...with the cold, hard, practical and business-like purpose of winning victories."
