Default Bundeswehr gravity knife 1963 pattern

    -15.jpg-17.jpg-6.jpg-19.jpg-8.jpg-5.jpg-achtes.jpg-20.jpgHi, mates !

Want to show you the German Bundeswehr gravity knife 1963 pattern.
This is the knife of the German para units, also tank-crews uses this knives.

Only three companies in Germany manufactured this tool:
WMF, (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik), Carl Eickhorn u. OFW, (Otto Förster, Witzhelden).

The 1963 pattern gravity knife replaced the 1956 pattern gravity knife and was in fact a copy of the German WWII gravity knife, 2nd pattern, (take down).

Many para´s and soldiers of the tank units took this knife as souvenier as they quit, but, since 1st of April 2003, the possession of gravity knives is forbidden in Germany ...

This kind of knives from then on has to leave in the barracks !

Overall lenght of the knife, (with "fixed" blade): 25,5cm

    Hi !

    Your knife is a commercial.
Such knives, (AES78, AES79, AES81, LL80, ...), never were in use in the Bundeswehr.
