On the black Panzer beret notice the yellow material placed behind the badge, which is the flagless type used from around 1967-1979.... we have discussed this before on the forum, and is an indicator of which company the panzer man belongs to, I have seen red,blue and yellow used, but have no idea on company indication !
The "moleskin" side cap first issued as part of HBT "work" uniform in the late 1950's, went on to be adopted as the field uniform (in lieu of the awful heavy woolen "Filzlaus uniform) until the advent of the "Flecktarn" cammo uniforms of the 90's !
