    Question BW Badge Paratrooper?

    Hello All,
this badge came along with a bundle of other items dating from WW1 and 2.

It has me stumped so any help would be appreciated.

It is obviously some sort of para badge but on the reverse it has lost it's original 4 pins and has had two brass replacements soldered on (now these haven't been bent over so I am unsure if they have ever been used)
The reverse is stamped with the OLC mark ( I know this firm manufactured WW2 stuff)

I have checked the para cap badge but they all seem to have the German flag below so is this just an early example?
    As mentioned any help appreciated

    Doug,

Yes it is a visor badge. I've been told that the earlier ones did not have the flag. I may have been told incorrectly.

I was given two by a neighbor, a panzer and another one, forget what it was....

Yes, I believe it's a BW beret badge.....the early ones did not have the flag on the bottom

Wartime manufacturers like Assman and OLC continued to make badges for the post war german army

Thank you both for your prompt replies.
It seems then that this is nailed as an early BW para.
I have seen another para badge with the Assmann stamp but that had the flag below.

    All the best
    Doug
