mark i think i can field this question remeber that 57ers would have originally been awarded during ww2 so age 20 then during bw times he would have had to move up the ranks a little bit so most 57ers were on officers because they spent long enough in service to earn them i hope that makes a shread of usefulness im sure steve will help

really all you would have to do is raise the rank to sergeant or higher and then you could display 57ers on it

No Gents....57er awards, if worn, only on service jacket (Grey tunic), and then only on special occasions, 57er ribbon bars worn at all other times, never on field jackets, unlike WW2 !
    Prost ! Steve.

Thanks for showing, you inspired me to look at my post war pile
Just found my lot in my post war stock pile, I'm missing the trousers
    Is mine Luftwaffe?
The side cap was one of the first things I've ever had at 6 yr old so it has battle damage

Rene I think I can confirm that yes yours has the luftwaffe emblem on the left shoulder and that looks to be right to me. I just missed out on the exact same tunic at aucton a few days ago and they had it listed as Luftwaffe.

PS. if you need a set of trousers send me a PM

Rene....as Mark states your "Filzlous" jacket is indeed a November 1960 made Luftwaffe version. I wonder how many more are lurking in collections !
    Prost ! Steve.
