Franjo,
I'm sorry I can't help you on this one.
Late production St&L.

Nick
Thanks Nick.
Best regards,
Franko
Yep,
the main difference between early and late production is the quality in most cases. Of course the early production was intended for actual entitled veterans in keeping with the ethos behind the 1957 law. Late production pieces are by definition more along the lines of commemorative pieces or even dare I say especially for sale to collectors or as curios. Then you have the creeping hand of commerce as well!
I have quite few '57 pieces because I believe they are a definate part of the evolution of the awards but I am only interested in the early production which had legitimate purpose if that doesn't sound too pompous!

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares more about than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature with no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
Thank you Mark for your explanation. I dont like it with a reason obviously, because as you said its probably made for collectors and not for the real purpose, veterans, and that is why this one was looking so strange to me, like some copy. Early ones are much better, well made pieces, far superior than this.
Best regards,
Franko
Hi Jonas,
I think so yes, but who knows what St&L is doing these days.
Here's a thread on their current EK2 production, or should I say EK2/RK hybrid.

Nick
