    Tom, good question....the next rank is still a junior NCO, "Untroffizier" but from this rank on, all further shoulder boards were bordered by "Alt Gold" tresse (Lace) and then from "Feldwebel" on, the addition of "Alt Gold" cord around the collar....these further enhancements were either added by the Company tailor or even the soldier himself ! however I would think upon promotion to Unteroffizier a new tunic would be the order of the day....I did read of a Senior NCO not having the gold cord around his collar, when pressed on the subject he stated that he could not be bothered to add it ! Prost ! Steve.
