Evolution of the BW FJ Abzeichen

Just thought I'd show some examples of the BW FJ wings, starting with (centre line) zinc Juncker WL FJ qualification badge, contrasted with a pre- '79 BW cap badge.

Below these are shown the first, American style, FJ wings alongside the short-lived '57 style qualification badge, which was deemed unsuitable due to its historical associations.

At the top is shown a current BW Marine officer's qualification wings.

Missing from the evolutionary chain are the derided 'eisenbahnerabzeichen' (railways badge ), which preceded the current badge, and is next on my list.
