    Default Flea market: Bundeswehr pick-ups

Got these items from a flea market yesterday, the lot cost me 23 euros. I hope I did good, as this is a new area of collecting for me.
I'm planning to make a Bundeswehr and 57er awards display.

    Regards

Good finds for 23 euros! What type is the helmet cover? I have never seen one before, looks like a denison smock camouflage.

Ingrid..the helmet looks to be a Belgian M71 Paratrooper helmet, made by the Germans for the Belgian Army...I think off the top of my head the difference lies in the chinstrap..... the cover I think is also Belgian....not BW.
The ammo box is standard NATO 7.62mm. The "Flecktarn" piece I am unsure of...is it a bag/uniform item ? the Danish also were users of "Flecktarn", infact I think they were the first to use it.....
    Prost ! Steve.

I will do some more research on BW items and hopefully end up with nice west German pieces.

Thank you for the information, Steve!

It is most definitely not Danish

    Danish M/84 camouflage.

But I see why you might believe they look very similar.

Ingrid...post some more photographs of the "flecktarn" piece...the M71 helmet is collectable in its own right !
If you find any more Bundeswehr items, post or pm me for I.D. or value...no problem.
    Prost ! Steve.

Ingrid...great pick up, never seen one before, a Flecktarn kit bag...I am unsure wether it is issue or private purchase from Miltec/Sturm, see if there are any labels in it...I would love one as a flight bag for my vacations/holidays !
    Prost ! Steve.

Some very nice pick ups Ingrid the camouflage helmet cover is of particular interest to me and is quite stunning and it is the first helmet cover I have seen in this variation of Belgium manufactured Denison pattern

This variation of the original brushstroke pattern first appeared in 1952 and is often referred as"moon & balls." It can be distinguished from later Belgian derivatives by the faint brush trails of the overlapping colors and the unique "sawtooth" shape encountered infrequently within the pattern. Although worn primarily by Belgian airborne, commando and marine units well into the 1970s, the pattern was only in production from 1952 until 1956.
