Gebirgsjäger or just a cheap imitation?

Hi there, is anyone able help me to identify the year of manufacture of this Gerbigsjager mountain troop NCO jacket, I think it may be 1942? However the lapel badges look like dress badges and the cloth cheast eagle/swastika badge might be early 1940s? Can anyone help in interpreting the detilas on the inner pocket as pictured below or thoughts on whether the jacket has been 'created' for effect. Many thanks - HPB

To me this is a very cheap imitation.

Its not a Gebirgsjäger jacket - to me it appears to be a made up jacket from the Bundeswehr. On the label the 9/72 may represent the date September 1972.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Remove that dreadful eagle and keep it or sell it for what it is, a good Bundeswehr "Schibluse" jacket. We have a forum dedicated to the Bundeswehr and there is now collector interest in these items.

Not sure why you thought this was mountain troopers, given the colour of the pink waffenfarbe piping to the collar litzen and the shoulder straps? Mountain troops wore green and worn the Edelweiss insignia to the arm. The jackets were worn by many arms of service and by both men and women.

Hi HPB, carefully remove the fake eagle, hopefully it will be sewn in place and not glued. I have no real idea on current value? Maybe around the £10 to £15 mark?
