Looks to be a M1A1 LL Luftlandertruppe, also known as the M1961 for air land/airborne troops, introduced in 1961 for the West German forces, which replaced the earlier post war type that looked like the M38 and this has a similar liner.

Jerry, I have never seen this helmet refered to as an M1961 but possibly so. However, the M1A1 LL is commonly called an M71 (year produced likely) and this designation is also adopted by Belgium who also used this helmet. The West German M1A1 M60 and M1A1 M62 are not Para configurations.

That's what it is listed as in a book I have, though like most books I know it has some errors and maybe this is another one?
