Bundeswehr M60(?) helmet. Post war West German combat lid.
I played soldier wearing my uncle's Bundeswehr helmet back in the early 1970s...he had all of his gear in a dufflebag stashed under the stairwell...brings back memories!
I am not collecting helmets. Have just this one.
I am selling it if it worth anything. What do You think how much are they on market ?
Not a fortune, I don't know exactly. Maybe £20/£30 gbp?
I am glad it brings back nice memories to some. I have bad memories connected with this. It was used in Croatian defence against JNA army 20 years ago.
Well that certainly changes things...there are folks here who are collecting items from that conflict, especially helmets. YOu might want to post it in the classifieds here, perhaps someone will come along...
The same as above for value, regards minnie.
Tnx for help guys and girls ! I have placed it in classifieds. Hope someone takes it soon. I don't like keeping this any more.
Hi and welcome to the BW sub section......your helmet is a M62 (Model 1962) M1A1 Bodentruppenhelm steel helmet, it was made by VDN in September 1974, and is a size 55-57, they were used in the BW from 1962 t0 1981 when they received a new interior and chinstrap system and were re designated "Models M81 - M-1A1 "modifiziert, Bodentruppenhelm". Here in the U.K. they can be found for between £12 to £20......
Prost ! Steve.
