    I've had this for a while, and have always thought it was a post-war
    Bundeswehr pouch ? There are no markings on it anywhere, other
    than the screened Red Cross logo. The colour of the snap
    is what I've been going by.........

    Oddly sloppy stitching....looks like the belt attachment was put on my some one who had been tippling...lol Doesn't look WWII, though-1950-60 era, maybe?

    Steve, you got me on this one...it could well be BW, if it is, I have not seen one before....plenty of satchel/packs marked with the red cross, but not this style of pouch.

    Hi Steve,

    Can you give us an idea what the measurements are please mate.

    The closest looking pouch that I have seen to this is a compass pouch from the US M1956/ALICE system, I certainly dont recognise it as UK or BW kit, but that means bugger all, especially if Steve doesnt recognise it as BW LOL.

    Does it look as if there was a different fastening system beneath the "belt loop patch"?

    Just a thought and my 2pennorth.

    Rich, you could be right. There were never any other belt attachments.
    It is larger than the US compass pouch - I have a couple of those.

    It measures about 6" X 4". I keep a recent ( 1982 ) unused
    bandage packet inside to fill it out.........
