I also have a pair of slip on rank insignia and a belt which I have yet to photograph. None of the images here are ones I took, but the items are mine. Hat tip to the former owner for his photography skills!
I love the tailor's label. I have some Wehrmacht Heer tunics from the same firm!
Very nice items!..
Thanks for the input guys! is the rank displayed on the tailored tunic that of Hauptmann?
These items fit right into the story I am attempting to tell with my collection. Eventually, I will be hunting for unmolested NVA tunics before entering the fray and attempting to get some TR pieces.
Schützenschnüre
[marksmanship lanyards] are not worn by officers, only by other ranks and NCOs.
Fangschnüre [aiguillettes] are worn by officers serving as military attachés abroad and by other officers while carrying out certain ceremonial duties (receiving foreign dignitaries, escorting flags, carrying the medal pillow or manning the honor guard by a coffin at a funeral etc.).
Thanks again Andreas. I was just thinking of something that might dress the tunic up a little without being permanent. Would you happen to know the unit indicated, if that is what that is for, by the pocket fob on the Hauptmann tunic?
EDIT - I found it! Panzerjägerkompanie 200 (PzJgKp 200) or 200th Tank Destroyer Company and his shoulder patch is for 2 Jägerdivision.
